rattle rattle??

okay so i posted this up on the other forums but only got a few responses, just wanted to see if anyone else had any ideas.. here's the scoop:

i've noticed a bit of a rattle underneath my car passenger side to be specific.. it only happens at certain times.. i took it to a shop to get my oil done (i'm in DC for the next few months so no tools with me) and asked them to take a look at it.. they called me up and said they needed to open up my rear drive shaft to inspect the problem ($175)... i told them no ty because it's not coming from the rear.. plus i have had zero driving issues associated with this.. my thoughts were that it was the exhaust a little loose.. am i correct in thinking this or should i go ahead and have them check it out further?

now, i did a bit more research and the sound only appears on the front near the passenger side at 2200 rpm (any gear) so i'm really thinking it's the exhaust because of the vibration at that rpm is the only thing that causes it to rattle any ideas??

exhaust, heat shields, etc. Can't really tell you what it is exactly without looking at it personally. I'd say take it to another shop or crawl under the car and look for it yourself. My pathfinder did that and I took it to Firestone assuming it'd be an easy fix; the guy said it's a heat shield with 4 mount points and one was loose, but they didn't want to do anything because they said I need my heat shield. He was wrong--there weren't 4 "mount points", just a bunch of metal ties holding it to the exhaust pipe. I ended up just going under the car myself, bought a few fasteners, and just re-fastened the heat shield. Problem solved.
