You got extended warranty on it? If not, it's going to be expensive. Leaky valve cover.

why do you say that tho?? I've been doin a lot of research and the experts say its a very common problem on the vq35 engine, they also told me to just replace the plugs and gasket and I should be okay... I don't understand why you would say that w/o any edvicence???

^^^ common... do you really think I'm serious???? I mean really - "throw away the car"???... it was sarcasm man - the issue you are dealing with has been talked about for years... you need new valve covers (there is no gasket and you cant replace the seals).
I can't believe you really thought throwing the car away is a serious recommendation.
btw, did you bother to read the thread I linked for you in post #6?

what is all this talk about replacing the spark plug tubes seals? They are not replaceable as they are part of the valve cover (dumb design). If There are new seals available that with the the oem covers, I'd like to know about it,and so would everyone else

Okay so I found the valve cover gasket I need and may also help anyone else with the same issue. I found it for $17.99 at O'Reilly Auto Parts! btw ocg35 did you actually think I took that recommendation seriously?!? Na man I jst figured u were just some hater tryin to talk some bs...

gaskets aren't your problem... you need new covers (it's been mentioned at least 3 times already)... the seals are not replaceable - and that's what is causing the oil to pool up... you probably dont need both covers (unless you have plug on both sides leaking)... but replacing the gaskets alone is not going to fix your problem.Originally Posted by angel_eclipse98

Oh I just figured it was the same part... Where could I find these vavle covers? I think I would only need the right side cause its only the 6th one that has oil in it...
