Can anyone please steer me towards the location of the starter? A picture would be great, I cant seem to find one on the net. I just want to be able to give it a few whacks and hopefully get it started so I can drive it to my mechanic.

passenger side of the bell housing

accessible from underneath the car

2 14mm bolts hold it to the bell housing, 1 12mm nut holds the wire on the starter

I don't have any pics of it. Its passenger side - at about 5 o'clock if you are looking at it from the back of the motor.

Page 19 is the FSM for removal of the starter

 

just have someone push on the hood while you are trying to start it.... that should move it enough. I had to do that with my first car almost every day if I wasnt on a hill so I could pop the clutch.

 

Push start!!
