Do i need my crank case vent connected????

I was wondering if i need ed my crank case vent connected and reason for asking is because when i had switched my stock plenum with the kinetix SSV there was alot of oil reidue in some of the cylinders and i thought by disconnecting it it would pull cooler air in and no oil residue but dont kno if it is safe

Run a oil catch can setup and you will be fine. Our engines always have a small amount of oil in the plenum.

You dont want to leave it unconnected because it can cause a vacuum leak. Hook up a catch can to your pcv and crank case and that oil wont be so noticable in your plenum anymore.

Yes it needs to be connected. It helps prevent crankcase pressure buildup due to blow-by, prevents crankshaft seal leakage and oil contamination.
