Search the site. Theres a write up from one of the guys who put an ls2 in his 350z. I am sure he would have some pointers. I have never heard of anyone putting a 2jz into a g35 and that would be alot of fabrication and alot of money.

I would just stay within the family and go with the RB26. But... 2jz out of the two you got listed.

rb's crutch is the damn oil pump drive on the crank and oil pump. i've got an rb25det in a 240sx and while i love driving it i always have the fear of low oil pressure.

2jz is stout but has bad spun bearing problems when u hit 500+ or 700+ can't remember the number. as far as i can tell that's where it's crutch is. That motor will do 400-500 rwhp all day

I think someone already tried the rb26dett in the g but had a check engine light that would not go away and he was unable to pass inspections. i'll try and look him up

^ Yea I had a RB S13 before too and I knew all of its weaknesses so I wasn't afraid to push it if needed too. Plus there are many fixes for the RB like you said yourself. They sell collars and fittings to the back of the engine where the oil would go so you don't drop oil pressure. Other than that the RBs are solid. Can't go wrong and the parts aren't that hard to get for if you know where to look.

Head drain mod and crank collar by jun. Also, loctite the screws on the backplate of any of the rb oil pumps. They tend to back out at moderate horsepower and usually cause the gear to break internally on the pump.

Good luck bro

You'll get any power out of any engine depending on how much you're willing to spend. Regardless tuning is key for a strong reliable engine.

An LS series V8 is dead reliable. I would argue that there is less to break on the V8 than the 2JZ, although the 2JZ is a great engine.

There is a 350z in CT with an LS2 swap and a turbo. On the low boost runs he was going 10s at 138+? On high boost, I'm sure it's a solid 9 second car.

I would do the V8. You can just drop it in stock and be satisfied. You'll have an incredible, linear, powerband, and it'll still get good mileage.
