2 degree advance timing?
I had it done today and i feel a significant difference. My tech said its because when I put my exhaust on I lost alot of backpressure and my motor was laggy and he was right. As soon he advanced the timing and reset my idle rpm everything was spot on.
ilovez- Did you notice any power loss when you put your exhaust on prior to the timing advcance? Or did you just notice that you had lost power after the advancement? I just threw on a new exhaust and can't really tell if I've lost or gained, but with your explination of loss of back pressure, makes good sence to me to have the timing advanced.
If you don't have a Cobb Acessport, or something like that, where would you go to get the timing advanced? We ( Indy ) doens't have any import or tuner shops around here. The only place we have is an Audi/BMW Porsche shop.

Yeah when I put the exhaust on I felt that I lost alot of torque and finally I took the car into infiniti and my tech test drove tge car and he said the sfame. So he did the timing advance and I guess it compensated for the poor air to fuel ratio. Im not shure about anywhere else but tge tech used the nissan diagnostic computer to advance the timing. If your under warranty and have a good relationship with a tech at the dealer then ask them to do it. But dont ask the service advisor theyll charge you 100 to do it
i had it done before I was tuned with my Emanage. I noticed more wheel spin off the line but otherwise not much.
NISSAN and INFINITI can do it...will take them 5 min and they will charge you a good $50-100. If you can find someone local who has CIPHER you can get it done from them.
