Alright fellas im sure this question has been asked a million times but im trying to buy my g35 sedan and am starting to consider a awd one and i wondered if there was big differnece between the 2. Other then the obvious and as far as maintenance goes would a rwd drive be easier?

 

where do you live? Are you in a cold climate and drive in the snow? If so, the AWD would be a logical choice, no? If you are warm weather area, well then you might not need it.

At least in the midwest, the AWD's sell for slightly higher than the RWD's.

If you want a 6m/t, they only come in RWD.

The AWD will also weigh a bit more and have slightly more drivetrain loss than the RWD.

hey thanks for the response i knew that much but i was reading a thread about lowering a awd drive one requires quite a bit of work. So i was wondering if alot of simple mods are that hard?

 

it requires no more extra work then a RWD.

just have no front strut options. well now there are a few options i think 2 and the popular coilover setup. There is nothing a RWD can do that AWD cant in terms of lowering. We can run staggered wheels and tires just like RWD can.

most cases its AUTO or manual first and then RWD or AWD but that is based of your answer to auto or manual and then where you life.

no mod here is hard. everything in a sense is BOLT-ON because the platform is pretty popular there is almost no need to custom make/bulid/weld/form anything that hasn't been made.

AWD= slightly lower MPG, heavier, no burn outs. and at times all 4 wheels are powered.

 

I used to drive 4Motion (german engineering 4x4), great in snow/rain/gravel etc..
but I was always thinking how it would be with RWD..than I tried it on some track in slightly different car (genesis coupe) - first corner WOW, I'm drifting, finally after all those years , so I bought G35s and so far a lot of fun...but winter is coming...

 

Simple. If you have one car, buy the G35X. If you have a 4X4 truck you plan to keep, buy the RWD like I did!
