broken maf connector , where to find?

Hi all ,

I accidentally broke off the tab that is used to click onto the MAF sensor (circled in red) . My mechanic told me that i will not be able to find that connector anywhere unless i buy the whole new wiring harness.

DO you know where i can find one as i am using zip ties to hold it in now.

Here is the illustration of what im speaking of thanks

Check this thread in the marketplace. Bet you could get that one on the cheap.

Just use Gorilla glue, epoxy or Goop and it'll be fine. Might not look sexy, but that's what I've done in the past and had no problems. Just make sure that the glue doesn't get into the wiring assembly as it can make the parts unseparable later.

To remove it, use nail polish/acetone, but I doubt you'll be doing that in awhile. Cost <$1!!!

Dont use glue and definalty dont use acetone on plastics

I think you will be ok as long as the harness(s) are connected

I have never seen someone sell just the tab or locking part of a harness

I suppose any bone yard would have one that you can cut off and then resolder. Ask your mechanic if that's an option

Use a zip tie around the MAF housing (or two if they are smaller) to hold it on. A black zip tie would barely show, better than glue or a $$$ harness.

thanks guys

am currently using some 3 zipties and honestly it look ugly as hell...... =(

went to all available bone yards in dubai but everyone just sells the whole wire harness

none of u ever come across on any online electronic shop?

n i wish my mechanic here know his stuff , sigh . i rely much more on this forum than them .

so no glue and acetone?

yeah probably the only way youl be able to replace it is to cut it from a junked car ..

maybe the altima and maxima with a 3.5 ..use the same maf .and possibly might get that clip from one of those too ..
just thinking out loud i guess ..
