Depends on what you're going for man

Stock is 3.35 for 5AT *UNLESS* you are 2006 with SPORT package then you'd have 3.53 w/ VLSD

A lot of us swap from 3.35 to 3.53 for 5AT. Some have used the 3.69 gears out of the 2007 Sedan/G37.

The more aggressive you get with gearing the lower the MPG. You'll be going through gears a lot faster and at higher RPMs at all speeds.

Do you ever plan on going FI? Do you ever plan on getting an LSD?

If you plan on going FI keep your 3.3 gears and buy a Quaife diff for the 3.3 gears.

Depends - my MPG went down from 27.5 to 24 in HWY driving when i went from 3.35 to 3.53. Around town its not very noticeable though.

Yup. I think around town where the auto isn't stuck into high (#) gear, it can still get decent mileage.

But out on the highway where you are in 5th/6th, that's where the mileage is going to suffer.

Same here but I went from 26 to 23 on the highway. W/E it's not a big deal for the improvement in driveability I gained. The car is much more fun. All I need is the Transgo shift kit and I'll be really happy with my baby. If you are handy with DIY projects this is fairly simple to do, just make sure you have a friend to help out. If you're not, a shop shouldn't take more than 1.5 hours so a reasonable install cost should be somewhere around $100-150.

+1 - I did it by myself (which is hard considering the weight of the thing and the tight location) on jack stands in my garage and it took me just over 2 hours. Most of that time was spent breaking the bolts loose off the stub axles.

And Blue Dream - go get the Transgo already. what are you waiting for anyways???

haha

Gotta get the money tree to grow a little faster. In the last 2 months I've dropped coin on new rims, tires, CustomZ undertray, and coils. Next up is a tune then maybe the Transgo.

so if i have a 06 AT G35 with premium package, i have the 3.35 with no VLSD is that correct.

plus is changing the fluid on a VLSD rear diff, a simple drain and refill...or does it involving drilling a hole in the casing and then changing the oil...

im just confused..?
