Stock Air Box Mod?

Seen several different ideas for stock air box mod. I have the K&N filter + Z tube. Does anyone have any hard data that these mods do anything other than allow more dirt into the airbox?

Thanks!

Re: Stock Air Box Mod?

I conducted back to back tests at the drag strip (not the dyno) and the modification made absolutely no difference in E.T. or speed. There may be a slight advantage by installing a 350Z airbox IF you want to open a hole in the radiator core support to allow air flow into the box. Net/Net = I suggest leaving the stock airbox in place and unmodified.
