Re: whats up with APS?
I emailed the company a while back and they made a nebulous reference to "November time frame." Hopefully we'll be seeing it in time for the holidaze.

They'll be showing at SEMA, hopefully we'll find out something then.

Re: whats up with APS?
I emailed them a couple of weeks ago, and they said US distributors are looking at after December for having availability. I went ahead and ordered the Crawford one instead of waiting another 3+ months.

Yeah I heard November release date as well if everything goes as planned. Supposedly it was originally intended to be released back in mid Sept but they decided to go ahead and push it back to after the SEMA Show. Show the product off, get some distributors, then get it out there. Best estimate on MSRP is $375 and there is no plenum deposit or swap. Sounds good to me! As far as the name though: The Tall Boy Plenum??? Oh well at least it looks good.

Re: whats up with APS?
will this really yield the same gains as the crawford plenum? i mean thats really the big issue to me. besides the fact that its cheaper, i get to keep my stock plenum, and it can handle turbo. How many psi can it handle?
Re: whats up with APS?
Since its cast, I would think that it would be able to handle any boost pressure that you could throw at it.

Re: whats up with APS?
Well it kind of depends on the casting process used and the nominal wall thickness of the part. If they "HIP" (or hot isostatic press) the part (this is a special way to cast the part), this will force all of the air bubbles and imperfections in the casting to the outer surface. Also, if the wall thickness is over .125" then boost pressures might be able to get pretty high... There are just too many variables like how much air the plenum allows to the front 2 cylinders, the process used to make the casting, etc... to have any idea about hp/tq numbers and boost pressures. Still, it looks very promising!!!
Re: whats up with APS?
of course the APS plenum will handle boost (easily >>14.7psi, the APS guys are not morons.
I currently use the Crawford V5 and it perfroms as advertised . Only beef is the extra "unwanted" noise it generates. The APS casting will surely be quieter (cast material is af ar better sound dampner than welded sheet metal. So I intend to trade up when available. I could live without the Big **** logo on top though. I will prolly mill it off before ceramic coating..
