HELP!! AC Compressor seized

Hey guys

I am hoping one of you guys can help me out with an issue I am having with my 03 g35 coupe.

My car started to overheat a couple of nights ago and i checked what was wrong. My AC COmpressor belt broke. I figured I might as well replace the AC Compressor Belt and PS/Alt belt together. When replacing I noticed that the AC Compressor Pulley is not spinning freely. I am not really familiar with how AC systems typically work.

I may be completely out of the refrigerant (R134a), can this cause the AC Compressor to seize? If I added refrigerant, will it start moving again? Please help or any advice if possible. Has anyone changed their AC Compressor before? I know it is very tedious job and may take forever to do a complete flush.

Thank you

If it broke the belt and will not spin you will need to replace the ac compressor and the reciver dryer and get it to a shop that can put the system into a vacumn and then recharge it.And by the way the ac compressor being locked up will not cause your overheating issue.

THe ac compressor rotates when I put the wrench on the bolt in the front. I think this means the AC compressor is fine. If it is out of refrigerant, will it just be disengaged so i cannot spin the pulley?

I tried installing the 2 pulley and the engine would not crank when both were installed. I loosened the AC Compressor belt alot and the car started. The AC compressor must be the cause. Are these things supposed to be lubricated or anything

THe overheating issue is a radiator fan motor issue.

Thanks Guys

Ok So I think the turn of events occurred:

1.)AC and Radiator Fan motor broke
2.) Car Overheated
3.) AC Condenser heated up and put pressure on the AC unit
4.) AC Compressor overworked and seized
5.) Broke the AC COmpressor Belt
6.) AC stopped working

Does this sound like something that would happen and happens alot?

Thank you
