1 qt loss every 3000 miles is considered oil consumption IIRC. Or was it 1000 miles

Most manufacturers will say that up to 1 quart per 1000 miles is acceptable.

so whats the rule of thumb here for oil consumption?

1 QT every 3000 miles i heard was normal.

Id say im about .5QT every 2500-3000 miles or so.

I did just recently change my spark plugs and didnt find any oil pooling in my 5th/6th heads.
