I was reading Import Tuner and they did the fact or fiction segment on this oil additive. They boast that it can add 20whp to our platform. They found dyno gains on a few different cars. 8whp on an s2k.

I am serious if a magazine has dyno gains to prove it. Look it up in the December issue, page 34.

 

lol i would not touch this till. virgin analysis and uoa is done. it probably thins out your oil.

i would never add an oil additive ever. they always do more damage then good

 

 

They tested it to not change the weight of the oil.

 

well i will wait for much more testing and uao's before i even take a look at it seriously.

 

There will be skeptics and I can understand. Just sharing this with those who may be interested.

 

Here's my take. If this additive really does what it claims, then why aren't auto manufacters fighting over it to own or share the rights to it? The claims are pretty big. A 4mpg gain on a Prius? 20whp on a VQ35? Automakers spend millions just to gain 10hp or add 2mpg. Now there's a fluid and somehow improves all these things? It's a bit hard to believe. It's like Slick50 all over again. I'd imagine there's a huge caveat that says "Gains up to......". When you say that, you can pretty much get away with any claim legally.

 

Even if it was "gains up to", its still has gains. Someone already owns the rights to it Im sure. They mentioned it was from the aerospace industry so any of the big players probably already use it in their lubricated machines.
Manufacturers wouldnt really have an interest with this stuff, mainly because its used up after every oil change. They have no reason to include it with their manufacturing process, at least thats what I would assume.

 

There's a link on here somewhere, but after seeing what most additives do to the oil, I don't intend to use them anymore. I would wait to see the results from more tests too.

 

These things just shred the viscosities down to nothing. Which wrecks the protection ability of the oil. If you want to use this stuff, fine by me. I'll wait
