engine popping noise!! please help!

hey guys im new here, was looking around the net and found yalls web site.. let me tell you it is the BOMB! learned a bunch of stuff about my G i never new about.. well i have owned my 04 g35 coupe for about 2 years now and have enjoyed it but there are some flaws that i had no idea my car was doing.. this may sound dumb but i always thought my motor was suppose to make that popping noise so i never thought anything of it.. well little did i know its not! so please help!!!

ok so heres the deal.. purchased my car 2 years ago and it drives really good.. now i commute 60 miles each way for work 6 days a week.. well i've notice after a long drive when im idleing for a while like say at a red light my car makes a subtle popping noise like a miss fire or something like that.. its real low and if i raise my rpm it would quit.. or if i press the clutch in it would quit.. i thought it was a miss fire so i've changed my spark plugs to the irradiums (how ever you spell it) and it still did it.. now i will tell u this much i never paid any attention to what gas so for the longest time i been pumping the 87 gas but have switch it to 93 for months now.. lol never noticed the premium label on the gas door.. do you think that has something to do with it? did i screw up my motor? thanks in advance for anyones help...

I think some light misfiring at hot, low idle in neutral is normal on these cars, should be barely noticeable through the exhaust. If it is louder than that, or from the intake I would be concerned.
