OC block replacement but then storing for winter.. what to do?

So Im bringing my car in for the OC block replacement tomorrow. Like most car guys know, youre supposed to baby the new engine for the first few 1000 miles. But as soon as I get the car back its sitting in my garage all winter as I dont drive it in the winter.

Can it just sit there all winter being started like once a week, maybe taking a drive if the roads are clear? Is it gonna cause any damage by not running it until spring after the new block is put in?

Yes and i would add a little Stabil gas treatment to it also. You will cause no problems for the new engine.
