Code P0011

My 03 G35 came up with a P0011 code; Camshaft position actuator A - Bank 1. The car is clattering crusing (high vacuum) I guess the cam is advancing too much or at the wrong time. How big a job is it to replace a cam position actuator?

Just the cam phase sensor you need to change out on Bank 1 (drivers side)

Its located just towards the firewall on the valve cover. Easier to get to if you remove upper and lower plenum, but you can remove just the intake/throttle body and remove as well.

15-60 min job depending on which route you go. just gotta unclip connecter and pull the sensor out.

Take a look at the FSM (service manual) - free online version in a couple places.

Thanks for the info, I will repair it today. Where can I find the service manual online ? I could then ask more intelligent questions.

Tollbothwilley what u are describing is the cam position sensor right? Doesn't that throw code p0345 or p0340? You can change the sensor only taking off the engine cover too and it takes 10 minutes to change each side.

im am currently dealing with the same problem after i just built my motor. along with those codes i also have random misfires... really annoying. im wondering if i simply change the cam sensor it will do the trick but i have the feeling it is the actuator in the front...

Just got diagnosed with a "P0011 code; Camshaft position actuator A - Bank 1", does anyone know a DIY fix or how much it costs to get it fixed either at a shop or dealer ?
Have a 2005 G35 coupe, auto, 59k miles. . Thanks for the help in advanced !
