I have an 04 coupe with 99000 miles on it and yesterday when I went to turn it on it reved up but immediately turned off so I tried to start it again and the same thing happened so the third time I gave it some gas and it stayed on.

When I was about a quarter of a mile away from my house the vdc, slip and service engine soon lights came on and my car lost complete power. The car was still on but the throttle was completely unresponsive so I pulled over and turned it off and back on. It started running normally but the service light stayed on.

Has this ever happened to any of you guys?
What could this be?
