port and polish heads
Re: port and polish heads
no there are no "tried and true" port and polish data
you are on your own, I researched this with my altima (much more restrictive at higher rpms, i actually had the heads off to visually examine them on my altima, I haven't had my G's heads off yet) and the best approach appears to purchase a second set of heads. then you machine them in a "mild" style see if you like em. if that doesn't do it for you, go a little further. do at least a 3 angle valve grind for good results. from a local machine shop the work was gonna run ~1000 bucks the first time. I found a spare set of heads available for 400 bucks but I never purchased them. there have been some engine builds on 350's but I haven't seen that info posted regarding port and polish.
In my own opinion, i think a simple polishing of the intake plenum should net a few hp.

Re: port and polish heads
What about Extrude Honed? They polish by passing this PlayDough-like media through the part. Seems like the process will even do mild porting after more time in the media. Excellent results on the polishing portion. Then you'd be looking at a valve-job if you wanted ot go that far.
