someone correct me if i'm wrong but thats not oil, when oil burns inside the combustion chamber it comes out as bluish/black smoke, when it burns in the exhaust after the combustion chamber ( turbo leak would do this) it burns white.

What you see is normal since its cold outside, every car has white smoke coming out, its water

no, When your burning Engine oil, Its Bluish smoke, When your burning antifree, its white smoke. You can smell the burnt oil.

If indeed it was burning oil apart from the smell, it also wouldn't stop once warmed up, that just looks like normal condensation from a cold start in very cold weather, it also dissipates quite quickly, which oil smoke wouldn't.

if it were valve seals it would. even when cold, the car isnt supposed to smoke so much it clouds over. mine ONLY smokes when i first start it after its been sitting a while....once it warms up, no more smoking. if i start it and 10 seconds later drive off it will leave a tunnel of smoke behind it. i know how ya feel brother.....why do you think im building a motor? thank your valve seals and weak piston rings.

btw, i'll take a vid of my car tomorrow of how bad it smokes.

I second what the_coupe says. I had a car that used to do exactly that and replacing the valve seals solved the problem. The longer the car sits, the more smoke produced. I was also using Mobile1 synth, which burns white rather than the normal bluish oil smoke.

video i took not too long ago. only smokes during cold starts aka sitting for a while. once it warms up its all good. and it does use an obnoxious amount of oil too. just drivin this bish til my motor build is finished

if its only doing it on start up i would say valve seals. does it some on start up if the car has only been off for 30 min or so?

yeah i know the seals are the culprits for the smoking. it will only do it once the car has sat for hours and is cold. once it warms up it only does it for maybe the first 3-5 minutes before its warmed up. my compression numbers were good, but it doesnt mean the oil rings are bad, but i do know i did have some blowby in my pcv hoses.

The OPs car and the other guys car are smoking because they do not have an oil catch can and oil enters the plenums and combusting. Mine burns oil but doesn't smoke like that. Do not get a Greddy one. It ALWAYS leaks somehow. If you still have warranty ask them to swap in the VQ40 shortblock. They know they want to.
