I put on my used ones that are the original valve covers that came with the car.

I'm going to Gwinnett Place Nissan to get the part number for the seals, even if I have to beat it out of the CS rep. No one on my350z knows neither so it really sparked my curiosity.

Please do get those part #s!

Just curious, why did you take off the camshaft lobe surface instead of just drilling out the old seals?

If this ends up being a viable fix... don't expect it to be permanent, but comparable to new set of valve covers, then that would be awesome! It's complete BS buying new valve covers each time as a result of a few cheap valve seals going bad.

Andrei made props for the work you had to do.
I know you had to reinstall the valve covers because of a vacum leak,
but what was the reason for you having to remove the valve covers in the first place?
Oil leak to the sparkplug chambers?

I bought the seals from R&D factory. I bought them for my mothers Murano since it's leaking oil and air and running like **** because of it. I went to that dealership and the guy didn't know anything and asked me a bunch of stupid questions that a knowledgeable parts cs rep shouldn't be asking. Him and whoever gave him that job should both be fired. I have no idea why the **** he even works there because he knows nothing. Maybe Tony@Riverside knows since he is one of the few people who is qualified for his job title.

Anyway here is what they look like. They smell like fresh rubber. Wish I had a part number. These are $3 each, so I overpaid R&D Factory by about $45. I paid $60 total.

I don't even know why they feel entitled to not release the part number when they didn't even make these seals. I would feel obligated to release it simply because I didn't make them.

What did you end up doing with the used valve covers? why did you scrap the seal off? (the stuff you took out with a hammer)

what did you do about the o-rings? where did you end up buying them?

by breaking the seal, how did the orings stay in place??

...also, where did you end up buying your part? R&D or from Inifini Riverside?
