I'm considering some mods

An Infiniti tech told me yesturday that I should feel free to do some engine mods to my car because their service manager actually like to see modded G's and it's pretty hard for them to prove damages are caused by a certain mod. He also said I can call to ask them about whether or not I should do a certain mod to my car if I'm not sure.
So, I'm thinking perhaps I should look into some engine mods down the road. I'm thinking about changing the crank pulley and maybe adding a Nismo CAI. Is this a decent combo to add to my G? I know I can probably install a CAI myself, but I think I would probably ask the dealership to do the pulley. Is that a good idea?
Thanks.
