Unhappy Ticking noise under acceleration

Hi I have an 03 5AT sedan. In the last month or so, after years of ownership, the car has developed a weird tick under acceleration. It seems to correspond to the RPMs. It starts at around 2500 RPM and keeps going, getting faster and faster until redline. It sounds kind of like this at 13 seconds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkQ5rEJaTmk#t=13s

lol.

It sounds like its coming from the dash, but is probably coming from the engine.

It doesnt make the ticking sound while idling or revving the car with no load. Only when I am actually accelerating. Whats going on with my car? Should I be worried?

^^^ it's not engine and it's not vibration... I have the same intermittent sound... I started a thread a long time ago about it:

https://g35driver.com/forums/engine-...ound-dash.html

After I mentioned it, Randy (RRYDE) told my Viet's (rookie) FX has the same sound intermittently...

I have an ABS code: C-1109 which is "Speed Control Actuator Assembly Cable Release Failure". I don't know if this relates to the ticking - however, with the help of John @ Temple City Auto we determined there is a VDC actuator under the steering column - I suspect this might be the source of the sound - but since it's intermittent and doesn't cause any other problems (that I can tell) I haven't taken the time to address it further.

Just so everyone knows - this isn't one of those easy to diagnose sounds/problems... it's not very common and not easy to determine. It definitely wont be fixed by info over the internet - until someone that has the same sound actually finds the fix...

if/when I ever dig into further I'll update the thread I posted above.
