I went to a junkyard and found a G there, my pal who owns the yard just snipped it off for me, I came home sliced,and wired it up and car started right up nice and strong. He only charged me like $25 for it.

 

Sometimes cleaning the existing sensor works too if it has a lot of rust attached to it due to the magnets inside. Used on should also work and obviously getting a new one is a long term fix.

 

I didn't have a problem until Infiniti replaced my short block. First it was bank 1 cam sensor and now the crank sensor. Prolly gonna replace bank 2 cam sensor at the same time as the crank but I'm gonna try to clean it first. Just to see if it'll fix the problem so I can get tags lol. They expired in April!!!

 

Can anyone tell me what the sensor is that's below and to the left of the cam position sensor on the driver side? I thought this one was the crank sensor but the connector was completely different and it's no where near the crank.

If someone could snap a picture of the crank sensor for me that would be great! I looked all over the driver side of the engine block and can't seem to find the crank position sensor.

There's a sensor that's on the very bottom of the bell housing and the connector is the same as the crank sensor I got from the dealer but when I put it in and tried starting the car, it wouldn't start... What is this sensor that's on the bottom of the bell housing of the transmission?

 

you have 2 sensors on the back of the heads which are the CAM sensor. The Crankshaft sensor is on the bottom of the block as mentioned above.

its in the bottom of the upper oil pan.

Thanks for that link. It's the same drawing that the dealer handed to me but it doesn't help.

On the driver side on the back, there's the cam position sensor and the below and to the left a few inches is another sensor. I'm not sure what this sensor is as it's not the crank position sensor.

Does anyone have a picture of the crank sensor location handy? The video is hard to see where this sensor is...

I have an 06 6MT coupe which is the Revup engine...

 

im not sure what your referencing or anything and I have looked at the back of the motors damn near 30 times now with wire tucks and pulling out mine and doing swaps and I know there are only 2 sensors on the back of each head both being the CAM shaft sensor. I have replaced mine both knowing this.

Take a picture of it for us please.....Thats the only way we can assist.

here's a picture of the back driver side of my engine.

The one with the green plug is what I thought was the crank position sensor. Just above this sensor and to the right is the cam position sensor (the connector on the sensor is at a 45 angle).



This is a picture of the sensor that's on the bottom of the bell housing of the transmission and the sensor from the dealership plugs into this connector like butter lol

 

In your first picture, way down at the bottom left of the block below the starter, is that the crank position sensor? Mine engine doesn't have that sensor...

 

yes that is the crank position sensor on the NON-revup. YOur Revup I think those are both cam sensors.

here is a pic of a REVUP from the bottom side. I see the CRAnkshaft sensor right by the shift linkage.

also noticed this....there are 4 cam sensors on the revup



I also see 4 holes here on the motor. You should have 4 cam sensors and the crank shaft sensor should be down below like referenced above.

So I replaced the sensor that's on the bell housing right next to the clutch slave cylinder and my car wouldn't start after that. Do I need to get bank 2 intake cam sensor also since I already replaced bank 1 intake came sensor?

Also, I called the dealership to let them know that I'm frustrated with my car since after the replaced the short block I've had this rogue engine light. The advisor I talked to is passing it on to the manager and he should be calling me back... I didn't have a light on when it came in and it's had one on ever since I got it back.

 

honestly I would recommend doing all of the sensors with something like this. Its very difficult to pinpoint these sensors

 

Trust me...go with OEM sensors on this. I don't know if I'd recommend going to the dealer though. I called the local Infiniti dealer and they wanted like $150 for a camshaft sensor. Called a local nissan dealer for the same part (letting them know it was for a G35...they couldn't guarantee it would work :/ ). That is BS, it is the same part# !...but it was $50 cheaper lol. At the end of the day, I found the Nismo sells all 3 sensors for a bit under $300 (both camshaft sensors and the crank). I'd recommend changing them all out anyways. I changed the camshaft sensors (one was bad) and about 2 weeks later I started hearing what sounded like a vibration sound and got a SES light. Turns out it was the Crankshaft sensor that I didn't change cus I was planning on doing when I changed my oil the next time. Just buy and replace them all.
