Re: Stillen Engine Dampener Brace

Thanks for this post... I’ve been looking for this mod...

I'm going to give them a call... Because from the picture that they have posted... That damper looks like the ones for honda B-series motors... MOOG has one on the coupe and the damper looks way longer...

Re: Stillen Engine Dampener Brace

you can find these on ebay for less than $100 for the G35...it's not Stillen name brand, but it does the job.

Wanna see mine?

Randys_G: Do you happen to have the link for the damper on EBay...? Is it the direct fit for the G35...? I found out from a local shop that the dampers for the G Coupe need to be longer than other dampers out on the market, due to mounting points from the motor to the side wall is further away.

Re: Stillen Engine Dampener Brace

well, this is where is WAS: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=42609

I'm sure if you do a search on Google for G35 engine damper, you'll find a cheaper one than Stillen's...they often try to reinvent the wheel and sell it for a much higher mark up...

Re: Stillen Engine Dampener Brace

thanks for that link... I went ahead and did a search... I found out why it is way chaper than stillen... It's because you have to weld the brackets... I think I'll go with Stillen...

Re: Stillen Engine Dampener Brace

the people I spoke to told me you only need to drill one mounting hole...but if you feel comfortable paying that, more power to you...good luck...

Re: Stillen Engine Dampener Brace

So, can you notice a real difference with this mod installed? If so, please describe? I'm interested but a bit skeptical. Thanks for any input.

Re: Stillen Engine Dampener Brace

I was looking at this mod too. I'm really wondering if it is worth it, especially on my mostly stock, NA motor. Will this really help in situations like in AutoX, etc?

I installed the damper yesterday afternoon. I will say....this is a MUST for all. Installation was no problem. I had no issues with the bracket holes being off set from the frame rail mounting points(as some have stated on my350z).

Drive train lash is completely eliminated. Shifting smoothness is GREATLY improved. I only notice addtional vibration while at idle (not enough to bother me). At various driving speeds, I notice NO additional vibration whatsoever. Car feels more solid and precise.

This may be the best bang for the buck! The $114 GB price was well worth it (thanks Jason @ performance nissan parts).

Hope this helps answer any questions about the damper.
