The stock Y-pipe on a sedan, coupe, and 350Z are all the same. No point in switching. Now getting an aftermarket Y-pipe is a different story. The stock coupe mid-pipe however is definitely different and lots of sedan owners have done the mod. Do a search and you'll find this subject talked about plenty of times.

SixFive,
Someone on the forum definitely has I just can't remember who. I think it came up over the summer in a thread about the midpipe or HKS muffler. Hope that helps.

Re: Anyone put the Coupe Mid and Y Pipes on a Sedan

I just have coupe mid-pipe with the stock Y-pipe. Though I noticed a slight change in exhaust tone, the difference between the coupe and sedan pipes was not overwhelming. After running this combo for a couple months, I have grown to appreciate it more. Also, the coupe mid-pipe weighs 25 lbs. less that the sedan version. For the $100 spent on the used pipe, it was definitely worth it for me. I performed this as a temporary mod until I decide which full cat back to get.

I have not read many positive things about aftermarket Y-pipes. Then again, I have not spent much time researching them.
