Loud clicking

So lately i've been noticed after I shut off my car, I can hear a click coming from underneath the car. Sounds like its coming from maybe from around where the y-pipe of the exhaust is. I notice it makes the same noise when driving after the car is heated up but its quiet compared to the sound of the engine running.

Any thought/ideas?

I have this sound too. I think it comes from the cats cooling off. Might be a sign that they are on there way out. Anyone else have any ideas?

My 04 does this too, I noticed the harder i ride my car the louder and faster the ticking noise is afterwards, i also hear it when the car is just idling too. When i turn off my car theres an occasional loud popping noise too. Ive seen some people say that this is just the exhaust cooling down and its normal but ive also read that it could be an exhaust leak or a few different things

I have this on my 06 as well. But I only hear it in 1st or 2nd gear at low RPMS when I'm taking off.

An exhaust "leak" wouldn't make any sounds after the car is shut off, I can almost guarantee its the exhaust/ cats cooling

Not that I haven't heard it before but even after short drives i can hear it and sometime when the car is running or sitting in a drive thur, so I was more worried about my cats being clogged ( 03 with 191k) as I save up for a new exhaust. Normally the sounds only after driving the car hard and not normal operating condition or long period.

If your cats are going bad there will be other signs...ie: loss of power, fuel consumption...

Im guessing the noticeable puffing sound at low RPMs (500-800) is an exhaust leak? it goes away when i rev it above ~1k RPMS
