Question Question About Lifting Coupe

Hey guys, I'm going to be using a lift to change my diff oil tomorrow and I don't think I will be able to get one of those adapters for the sill on our cars. I was wondering if you can instead place the lift arms behind the sill and ontop of the little raised part behind it. Here is what I mean:

This way I won't damage the metal sill that runs along the side, is this a good idea or not? Thanks in advance.

You could always jack it up from the differential and then use jack stands on the sides.
