Royal Purple?

Ok I bought some royal purple today for my G but I wanted to see if anyone else has used RP before and whether it was good or bad before i put it in my engine . I know mobil 1 is good but i was gonna just gamble and get RP. Also i got 10w 30 because it is almost 100 everyday here in houston and my turbo runs hot, should I have got 5w 30? Any suggestions ? Thanks.

RP is fine, i'm sure there's better stuff out there. but any synthetic you change out every 3-5k miles will be more than enough to take care of ur ride. more info on ur sedan?

You've been misinformed. Mobile 1 sucks for our engines. RP isn't that great for our engines either, but like SDGenius said.. if you change your oil 3-5k miles then it'll be fine.

Lemme find the thread one sec.

EDIT:

Nvm.. this is pissing me off.. you aren't the first person that has asked this question. There's been ALOT and alot of threads made, but for some retarded reason I can't find any threads. So i'll just list off a few.

0W30 German Castrol
5W30 Castrol Syntec

Penzoil Platinum
Penzoil Ultra..

If you want conventional oil then Castrol GTX is good

If you must go with Mobil 1 then get the 0W40

and umm.. that's plenty lol
