Yea it does shake a little bit when letting off clutch in first gear at first I thought I stopped knowing how drive stick but its weird it only does it sometimes. And yes the noise happens when in neutral and idling and doesn't matter if in first gear or not. Noise stops when clutch pedal is all the way down. Btw no significant loss in power just annoying noise sometimes even hear when music on with all windows up.

Plan to swap out clutch in about 3-4 months so hopefully when tranni is down get it all checked out.

Alright after doing some research on injectors it looks like nissan has a TSB for "FPR dampers" or fuel pressure regulator. The TSB says:

Ticking Noise From Engine Area
Applied Vehicles: 2003-2006 (v35 and CV35)
2002-2006 Q45 (F50)
2003-2006 FX35/45 (S50)
2003-2004 M45 (Y34)
2006 M35/45 (Y50)

If your Concern:
There is a ticking, clicking thumping, or knocking noise heard in the passenger compartment at idle. The noise could be from the engine compartment.

Action:
-With the engine idling, feel the fuel damper house while the noise is occurring.
The fuel damper hose is located on bank 1 side of the engine.
v6 models on passenger side
v8 models on drive side of engine
=If the vibration of the fuel damper hose coincides with the noise heard inside the vehicle, replace the fuel damper and attached hose on that cylinder bank (bank 1).
-See the respective ESM and Engine Mechanical (EM) section for replacement of the damper with hose.
-Confirm the noise at idle from the passenger compartment is not present.

Part numbers for fix:
-Fuel Damper (FX35, M35, G35) 22675-AM60A (QTY 1)
-Fuel Damper (Q45, FX45) (sop-05MY) 22675-CR19A (QTY 1)
-Fuel Damper (M45, all MY), FX45 (2006 MY), Q45 (2006 MY) 22675-EH00A (QTY 1)

I am ruling out piston slap that many people like to claim or the piston rings due to faulty design. I have a feeling the clearance need to be checked on the heads and then shimmed back in spec. You are probably hearing the gap between the cams and valves. You need to check the clearance and purchase buckets/shims to bring it back to spec. Being a dealership you can do it for cheaper than others but still working on heads/cams is very expensive and time consuming.

that my friend is definitely a rod knocking

So regardless of what is found out about that damper, is it safe too run one bottle of Lucas Oil Stabilizer just one time to see if it helps. I did read the BITOG stuff, just not sure still, more interested if any of you have tried it (besides OP) just once, and with what results. Not trying to thread jack, just though it is a relevant question.

It turned out to be a lifter. Had to remove the timing chain cover/ cam sprockets/ 1 cam shaft to replace the lifter. I couldn't believe something that was off by 1/2 a MM could make that much noise. The lifter ended up being mushroomed on the underside.

Sorry for late response. I worked at nissan so it wasn't as much. But labor is going to be really expensive. They have to remove the timing chain cover and take the cams out etc to fix the lifter. If you choose to do it you should replace all timing chain components while you are in there. if you are looking to upgrade cams it will be a good time as well.

I'm having a similar issue. I just bought an 06 with 66k miles. The tick is quieter than in the first video but i'm all paranoid because it's a used car (albeit in pristine condition). Performance is fine, no loss of power or anything. I guess i'm just wondering if I should leave it and if it changes deal with it? My main concern is having my beautiful G blow up on me

Sorry in advance I'm super noobsauce.
