New Owner Daily Driver Setup
New Owner Daily Driver Setup
Hey all I've been a long time reader but this is my first post! I have grown to love the g35 recently and went out and bought myself a 2003. I can now definitely say I love my car! However I want a little more out of it as we all do.
Like I stated in the title this car is going to be my daily driver. I want to upgrade the engine some here and there over time if I feel I need it. I want to go NA if at all possible. I have been reading and I know its more expensive than FI when it comes to hp gained. However I need this car to last and the idea of my engine blowing to FI terrifies me. I'm not going to be racing the car on track or drag or anything, but I want to feel a little more umph when I step on the gas. I'm only looking to get around 275whp of at all possible. If not then as close to it as I can get. Like I said I want to feel a little more umph. I'm not even sure if I'll even be able to tell a difference at 275 or not since ive never driven a car around there. I will be doing all the upgrades myself along with a buddy of mine who owns a garage so labor isn't an issue. I want to spend around 4k if possible. Here is what I have so far:
JWT Popcharger: * * * * * 125
UR Pulleys: * * * * * * * * * *335
Kinetix Plenum: * * * * * * 255
Crawford Headers: * * * 1155
Crawford Cats: * * * * * * *530
Crower Cams: 975
Please let me know if this setup will be ok as far as power goes and the longevity of the engine. I'm open to any suggestions or comments! Thanks again all!!

Welcome! Those all look like good upgrades. You might want to first do an ECU reset on your used car. I did and it seemed to wake my car up. You should also look into an Osiris tune. I hear that is a pretty good way to make the car perform better. That might be my next upgrade.
You can reset your ECU doing a series of timed gas pedal presses. Search "Easy ECU reset"

Thanks for the quick reply!!! I honestly did think about an Osiris tune and had it on the list to start with. I live in ky however and I'm not sure of anywhere to get it done. How much does the tune normally cost? I really want one as I believe it will make full use of the upgrades. How much whp do you think I should gain from the upgrades and the tune? Also will these upgrades affect the life of my engine? Last question, from here with the tune and upgrades do I have more room to upgrade more later?
Thanks again for all the help! The community here is real top notch!!
