New Plenum Design

I looked at the Top Secret Design for the plenum and then I contacted SSR. I talked to a rep and he said they would modify their plenum ($995, but significant discount if 25 ppl sign up for a group buy). Anyways, the design is to take the plenum and turn it so that the air feeds directly from outside into the plenum, no pipe bringing it around. Under the hood is the hood scoop, the air will go directly straight into the plenum. I need to know how many ppl may be interested in this so I can give him some sort of count. I realize that this is a lot of money and there is no proven horsepower, but I am pretty sure as well as the serv tech this will bring a lot of top end power.

Try to stay open minded and note this is a fully custom Aluminum TIG welded piece.

not sure what you mean, is the TB going to be relocated to the front of the engine? what other modifications will be necessary to get it to fit. is a new hood necessary?

I'm a little confused. So are you talking about a ram air type design that would require modifying the hood? or somehow bringing in fresh air under the hood but over top of the engine?

no cutting but a custom air intake will have to be designed, imagine the coffin design with a hole pointing towards the grill. no hood mods, but the design isnt final.

Looking this thread over we could probably give the discount if we had 10 people on this.

I totally understand what SSR wants to do, I think its a pretty hot Idea. Would totally removed that kink of the intake tube at the throttle body. Unfortunately I do not have a G35c yet so I can't get one. But good idea non the less.

so if the TB is now in the front, how do we extend the throttle cable and wires? will it be a complete kit, ready to bolt on or do we need to get/do other modifications?

to be honest, this is supposed to be a completely custom kit, nothing is def, but considering this is a full replacement of the plenum and not just the upper half, it may take a while, i was hoping to get the plenum and then head down to SGP racing and custom tune the whole thing.
