Current TCM version?

I've got an 03.5 5AT sedan.. .i was wondering which TCM's can be applied to me. I think there is a later verison out there that shifts a little better and actually counts down in MM mode when you come to a stop without MManually downshifting.

I am taking her in on Thur to get some things taken care of and would like to get my TCM flashed. Any help is appreciated.

thanks, ted

I thought Cato or someone had done the TCM flash to an 03.5 but he didn't get much better response than he had already from 14 ground wires. The 04.5 is what I believe he got uploaded but it could well have been the 04.

I had mine done this summer as well. No real differences with the re-flash to the latest version at the time. Not sure if the new '05s have a newer version, and if so, if our older trannies can be done to the latest, nor what difference it would make. Hopefully, someone will come up with an answer.

HEy Guys

I had a conversation with a tech a while back who called engineering (Nissan) in Atlanta to enquire about this. Here is the real deal: as of 6months ago, Nissan was working for a TCM upgrade for the 03's that would make it behave like a true MT (just like the 04 coupe and the 04.5 sedans). Here is the problem. You cannot simpy switch out the TCMs, its firmware has to be compatible with your ECU. We tried a coupe ECU in my car... and it through all kinds of LAN/CAN errors - no go.

The best us 03, 03.5, and 04.0 sedaners can hope for is that Nissan actually releases a version for us. last time I checked (a few months ago), Ted, the best you can do is the AL004 upgade (if you have anything before this version) or the AL013 for the coupe.

Good luck

Or just have Gord send you the 10 wire set. It really does make a huge difference
in shifting. Comparing mine to the 2005 loner I had, mine shifts just as fast or faster.
But the 2005 shifter is incredible!

I have Gord's 7 wire kit on my '03AT, what do the 3 additional wires do? If it's posted somewhere please provide a link, thanks.

Sean:
Since you received yours in January, further development was done, resulting in additional wires for the G35 and 350z. CKG’s Impressions are fairly reflective of the typical comments about the additions. Also read bsgoren's impressions on The Modification Review Thread.
