I went to Midas the other day...

Hey guys, so the other day I got new brake pads installed on my G at Midas. I figured Midas could handle something like that. Well after they finished, I picked my car up, drove it home, then left again to go to a BBQ. After the BBQ, I got in my car, and it wouldn't start back up. This wasn't a battery problem, as it works fine, but it just sounds like it will not turn over. This is the only time ever that my car has not started normally. After many attempts to get it started including push starting it to no avail, I call a tow truck to come pick me up. Since my car is dropped slightly, the truck had to tow it low and slow. I was in another car following the tow truck, and as we were near Midas, my front passenger side wheel falls off!! Sparks are flying and I see my wheel rolling into oncoming traffic. Lovely.... So now my fender is f***ed up and my bumper is cracked. My spacer is still attached to the wheel, but the threads of the spacer all stripped off as the wheel came off.

The only thing that I can think of is that God spared my life and would let my car start, because if I had been in that car on the highway and my wheel fell off going 75 mph, I don't know what condition I would be in today.

Midas is obviously taking care of me and giving me a car while mine is being fixed and they are paying for everything. It is just very inconvenient.

So the question to you guys is, does anyone have any experience with their car not starting like this? I took it in to get brake pads installed, but do you think they possibly messed up my tune? The weird thing is that it started twice after I left Midas, so I would figure something would have been wrong immediately. There are no codes displayed as well.

Any help would be appreciated!!

I don't see what Midas changing your brake pads has to do with your car not starting. And I have no reason to suspect that they messed up your tune in the process.

Could be a number of reasons (e.g. are you getting a spark?).

On another note, why didn't you ask for a flatbed?

I do not have the car in my possession but I would hope they would have already checked for a spark.

I asked for a flatbed when I called, but they insisted that the ones they have would still make it scrape. There weren't any issues with it scraping though when they were towing it. Do you think the tow was putting too much stress on the spacers during the tow?
