Help with gaskets and O-rings questions

A few questions:

1) is it necessary to get a new valve cover gasket if im just going to take off the valve cover for the DIY paint

2) can someone tell which o-rings, gaskets ....ect I needed to get for a straight swap of a timing cover?

Pg 55 of this 04 coupe service manual says a whole bunch of seal rings, collared o-rings and a front crank oil seal need to be replaced but I dunno if that's correct

I need to get back to Tony at OC infiniti with my order but I'm not sure about what I need

I dont do timing cover swaps so I'm not sure. Rick or Tony should be able to give you all the part numbers since they are all listed on the service diagram.

I dont think you NEED to replace the valve cover gasket but you will at least need to put some new RTV on the corners. The gaskets are pretty cheap so I wouldnt be a bad idea to replace them to avoid future trouble.

You dont "Have to" change the gaskets when removing the valve covers, but you should inspect them. Usually its pretty obvious when they need to be replaced, they are hard as a rock.

Are you talking about changing just the front timing cover or both the front and rear? If its just the front you only need alot of RTV (for the mating surfaces) and a new front main seal. Feel free to call us or PM me if you have any other question or need the seal.
