Clutch Problem - Yes I've Searched

OK, I've read every clutch thread on the forum, but haven't seen my situation. I'm hoping someone might be able to help out here...

2004 G35 6MT 80,000 miles

A few days ago driving at a relaxed pace, I went to switch from 2nd to 3rd gear and something "popped" in the clutch. The pedal stuck to the floor, and even if I pulled it up there was zero pressure. So I towed it home.
I looked under the car and saw that the clutch slave cylinder was blown. I ordered a new one, and replaced it this morning. It was taking FOREVER to bleed the clutch, after about 15 rounds of "pump 5 times, hold, and bleed"; the new slave cylinder blew out. It looks like the push-rod in the slave is over-extending.

Any thoughts on what could be the cause???

It looks you have old style clutch fork which is a stamped fork, these tend to bend and/or the pivot ***** break. You are correct the slave cylinder is leaking because it is overextending. The solution to this problem is our upgrade clutch fork package which can be found HERE

Let me know if I can help you with anything else,

Rob,
Thanks for the reply! DO you know the story on the slave cylinder shield? It's isn't showing in any of my manuals, and I don't see it in any other photos online... When the fork is initially lined up with the cylinder push pin, the fork rubs on the shield.

Yep sounds like the pivot ball is broken and the fork has shifted down some. The heat shield only came on 03s and early 04 G/Zs, thats why most things you see won't have it pictured. Usually when you have the heat shield it also means you have the weak stamped clutch fork. They later removed it since it was not needed.

If your going to replace this fork/pivot ball you should go ahead and look into replacing the clutch and throw out bearing also. No need in dropping the transmission to have to do it again later.
