Chirp/Cricket noise while accelerating at high gear low speed (6th Gear @ 20-30 MPH)
After driving around for an hour today I noticed that when I accelerate from a stop light or sign I can hear a squeal/chirp for 1-2 seconds (I cant confirm it since the engine reving higher is louder than the noise). The noise isn't present when the car is idle or reved without and load.
I also hear the squeal/chirp when I am at 5th or 6th gear and I accelerate hard (flooring it) at low speeds around 20-30 MPH. It continues to make the noise until I reach 1500-2000 RPM or if I let off the gas completely or ease the gas before I reach the certain RPM.
I was testing to see if my clutch was slipping (which isnt) prior to hearing this. (I put it in 6th gear and gave it gas on a hill and that's when I heard it)
Heres a Video, you might need to turn up your volume (its very feint but its loud and noticeable in person.) I also hear this in my sister 2004 Acura TL when you accelerate, her fix is a heat-shield replacement or water pump replacement.
Could down shifting have to do with this? I down shifted from 5th @ like 5-5.5k RPM's to 2nd which I think brought me close to or even to the redline (I pushed the clutch in right when I saw red line). I meant to downshift to 4th but I was sitting weird. The car is running fine other than the damn noise I am getting) Yes I know that's bad, I don't know what the hell I was doing. (Damn redneck going 40 in a 60 MPH zone).
If any one could help me that would be awesome.
