Surprisingly, I had no oil at all in all 6 spark plug chambers. Guess my O-rings are still fine

The only thing that was a pain was removing the back bolt on passenger side cover and I did learn that the job is way easier with an extra set of hands once it comes down to pulling off the covers. It took me and my buddy a total of 5 hrs but if I had to do it again I'm sure I'd take less that 2hrs. Good luck to you man.

Holy ****! thats expensive prices. I just paid around $380 for 2 valve covers and gaskets at Nissan.

You can just change the valve cover gaskets without changing the complete covers. I just did it.

I asked the dealer the other day about the reasoning behind replacing the valve cover and not just the gasket, the dealer stated that the covers were plastic and that sometime they could warp and start leaking do to the heat. To prevent the dealer from having to go back and do the work twice if the covers were warped they just replace the covers to ensure the valve covers want leak.
I was going to just replace the valve cover gaskets but now I may replace the covers I dont want to do through this problem twice and with my luck my are warped.

How much oil are you really burning?

Also look on ebay before buying the VCs from the dealer. I found mine for $75 online for both covers and gaskets a couple of months ago

Granted that was a steal, you'd still get them cheaper there than the dealer

I don't buy the story about the valve covers warping... I just had mine off and they looked completely fine. It's just the gaskets that go.

224k miles and valve cover gaskets were the first leak on my car...Replaced just the gaskets & my valve covers were fine...I call BS on the warping, unless you overheat your car to the point it warps them, In which that would be pretty damn hot & you would most likely damage other parts as well...I think the dealer is wanting to sell some parts & labor to you.
