I am about to replace the covers this weekend. However I am having trouble finding the torque specs for the upper/lower plenum. anyone know where i can find these?

They're in the FSM. I can't remember what they are exactly off-hand, but the torque specs are very low (like 6 ft. pounds I believe). In other words, if you don't have a torque wrench that goes that low, you'll want to be careful. I used a screwdriver-type ratchet so it limited the amount of torque I could get on the bolts.

Hey guys ..
whene i changed my plugs i noticed oil on the old plug on the passenger side nearest the firewall . Also . Ive recently been getting this chattering that sounds like two spoons banging into each other . Would the oil on the plug .cause this and how do i fix the oil on the plug issue ?

^ 4215 posts and you still don't know how to use the search function?


you need to replace your valve covers. Don't get the R&D replacement gasket kits, they don't work all the time

i've never heard of them not working

PM the guy who made the DIY for them and he'll tell you they've been leaking since he installed them

u cought me being lazy on my cell phone ..
But i went back a page or two and got my answer .to what to do about oil in one of my plug wells . (valve covers) seals etc ..

But does anyone have any idea what could be making the chattering spoons clanking sound . Whene i give it gas . It doesnt happen all the time just some times . It hasnt been happening very often .but its starting to concern me .
Thnx for any help or ideas .
And i apologize for not searching . Im just being lazy

Just finished replacing valve covers and sparkpugs and changing oil it wasn't to bad but it took awhile. No oil in the sparkpug wells so I'm happy about that.
