I'm new to the forum and to Infiniti's I am looking to help my brother get his ride back on the road after it was towed to the dealer and said that it needed a new engine. i think it had an oil consumption issue but never smoked out the exhaust that I or he noticed. I searched a little and it looks like rebulding the engine isn't the most economical choice. Should I look for an up graded replacement or just throw a junkyarder in and hope that it doesn't have the same problems?

The car starts but has no power, I haven't had a chance to look at it yet but am looking for ideas on what others have done and what the best route to fix it is.

2005 g35 stick

 

Took a look at the car yesterday and got a p0300 code, multi cylinder misfire. Here is a video of it running. What breaks when it sounds like this?
