I'm such a fool for not checking the forum in more detail before buying my G. I just got my 06 6MT Coupe last week. It only has 34k miles on it and is in otherwise amazing condition. I'm going to take it to Infiniti for some open recall issues next Thursday, and that will be the first official oil change and get this process started.

So I guess my question is...by the year my car is out of warranty right? Or has Infiniti extended the warranty as it relates to this issue? Also...I know hundreds of people have seen this issue, but how common is it really? 1 in 5? Worse?

About your warrentee just tell infiniti to run your vin and they should see if you have warentee. The oil consumption is most common in the 05 06 rev up motors. Fill up your oil, then after 1k miles see where its at. And that should give you a decent idea if your losing oil or not. Correct me if im wrong. Good luck.

 

I just found out today I'm getting a long block. I got a 07 6mt. Did an oil change there drive it like it was stolen and lost 4 quarts in 2000 miles. Now I got a new motor on order. But the warranty is 60k or 6 years. I killed my clutch though.
