Talking raced a AMG benz got spanked good!

I was driving downtown around lunch time saw a nice 2door coupe
benz, glanced back and forth then we were off he pulled me from start
to end, till about 80mph then i slowed down.
when we got to the light i finally noticed it was a AMG v8 kompressor
any idea how much power? that thing was fast.
i guess i have to twin turbo to get even!

Depends on which one you saw all the AMG coupe should be able to spank our G's A$$. Below are the Spec I got from MBUSA's webside.

The non supercharged spec for CLK 55 AMG:
CLK55 AMG Coupe
AMG-built 5.5L 24-valve V-8 engine
362 hp @ 5,750 rpm
376 lb-ft @ 4,000 rpm
0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds

MSRP: $70,620.00*

The SuperCharged spec for SL55 AMG:
SL55 AMG
AMG-built supercharged 5.5L 24-valve V-8 engine
493 hp @ 6,100 rpm
516 lb-ft @ 2,750 - 4,000 rpm
0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds

MSRP: $122,220.00*

Funny I was racing one down the 15 fwy coming back from Vegas Invasion 1 We both were going 150 and we were Dead Even, He appeared Very Shook that I was able to run with him. By the way having a Custom Dual flowmaster exhaust & Injen CAI & 100 Shot of NOS probally helped.........

Brave man.

Those cars are wicked fast....and quiet....and solid as a rock.

However, for what the supercharged version cost - you could buy 3 loaded G35 coupes and have enough leftover to take you and your entire extended family to the Bahamas on vacation.

Haha, not really. Today I was driving behind a black SL with California plates and the first thing I noticed was the AMG emblem. But then I looked again and the left side emblem read SL 500. No quad exhaust either. I thought, what a punk, he paid $100,000 for a 6.1s car and put an AMG emblem on it He could have at least rebadged it to an SL 55 and done some exhaust mods if he was trying to fool the ignorants on the road..

I just found out the coupe i raced has 469hp, no wonder it was so fast
now i dont fill so bad It only pulled by about 1 1/2 car lengths.
i guess i will have to start investigating superchargers or turbo.
