Supertine/AC Belt Squeal

Hey guys. Recently, I had both belts changed...no more than a month ago. I had not had any problem with squealing prior to. But now, I'm getting a squeal when I start my car, AC on or off. It reaaaaally squeals with the AC on now that its getting warmer out. I've been doing a little research on here and I've seen that it could be a tensioner, or applying a little grease/lube might solve it. What are my options? I'm at 105k so the warranty is gone. Is it a simple fix? Thanks for any help

bring it back to the place where you got your belts changed. but the cause of problem could be a few things. could be the belts aren't tensioned enough, or they're dirty causing a slip or squeak, usually that happens when it's wet. or the pulley bearings? if its less than a month ago bring it back to where you got them changed first!

My guess is your belt is just a little loose. A new belt will loosen up within the first few hundred miles of usage. You can tighten them up by breaking loose the bolt on the front of the tensioner pulley, adjusting the tensioning bolt (its below and behind the tensioner pulley) to get rid of the excess slack, then retightening the bolt on the front of the tensioner pulley.

Other than that, could be a squeaky pulley. WD-40 will take care of that, but make sure you don't get any on the belts.

I changed my belts myself two years ago and had squeal after a drive from arizona to texas... i retightened them while here and haven't had the issue since... the biggest PITA is taking the splash guard off the bottom of the car - damn thing is secured by like 14 bolts. >_>
