Plenum Question..

Ok so im chilin the Infiniti dealership waiting for my car and i decided to take a look online and do some research on the different types of Plenum for the G. I spoke a guy from APS and he suggested going with either APS or Crawford. Although the APS wont be avaiable til mid march. He also said with the Crawford plenum i had to sent my stock plenum out..?? Whatever that sounds gay simply since i wont be able to drive my car for at least a week. Anyways i also looked into the Kinetix plenum, the new Version that wont crack ; ] Just wondering if i should wait for APS or go with the Kinetix Plenum. Any Suggestions.. thanks

You get to keep your plenum until you send the old core back in with crawford unless he changed the policy. Crawford is the way to go i believe. APS sounds good but it hasn't been proven just yet...

what they do is they charge u an extra $200.. and once u send them ur plenum they will refund it back to you. If you dont send it.. then.. well.. you'll have a 700 dollar plenum

I am waiting for the APS. The picts on their site show a much nicer finish than the Crawford Frankenstein (not knockin the performance aspect, just the looks). Although I don't expect numbers to be much different than the Crawford, I am still wating to see them all the same before I actually take the plunge.

The only complaints I hear about Crawford are the looks and the fact that, at least for Z owners, you have to buy a new strut bar to clear the plenum. Other than that, a lot of ppl seem to like the Crawford. The APS has been in the works for a while now. I don't know if there is still R&D on it, but no one in the user side has had the chance to test it in real life applications.

I would go with the Crawford Plenum... He sent me the plenum without the core charge... Came in like 3 days... But the waiting list was pretty long... Took 3 months before I got a call back... then I shipped out the stock plenem the following week... Best buy on a mod, i think...

Either plenum should be good.

I was running a Kinetix V3, and when it cracked, I sent my original plenum to Crawford, got it back in about 1 week, since I didn't have to wait for a core.

The Crawford V5 is a great looking plenum, the welds are hidden alot better than before. I polished mine myself, using about $60 in materials. If you're hardcore, you can smooth and polish the inside of the plenum as well.

None of them. The "full plenum" is the upper portion (or cover) of the intake manifold.

You should send me a PM or just call me on my cell. I can help you with the questions you have!

BTW, anyone who thinks that Doug is presently charging for a "core swap" hasn't spoken with him lately... I believe returning the core may no longer be necessary.

Say what? You can keep your original plenum now?

Crawford for me. Doug is a fair guy and great to deal with.
You won't have to send your OEM plenum until the new one arrives and is installed, or keep it like I did and pay extra.
