newbie needs help

Hi...can someone explain to me why you need or don't need to send in the OEM plenum once purchasing Crawford plenum...(what is a plenum anyways) sorry to be soooo ignorant...just new to this sport.

crawford uses the stock plenum and they modify it. That's why they need to have a supply of stock plenums to modify. So if you dont send it in to them, then they will charge you a 200 dollar fee.

The new one is casted so no need for core return, but pricing and release dates are not avialable yet!

i thought the inside's of intakes shouldnt be polished... because the turbulence inside is a good thing? helps mix up the gas particle... ?

i may be wrong, its something i recall from a older post from one of the car forums ive been to...
