I'm still looking into exhaust after 5 months...had someone tell me that most knockoff HKS exhausts are the same, is this true? if it isn't how do i tell if its an XO2 etc. where would be the easiest place to get a new one?

Look into the M2 Performance exhaust which is the HKS replica exhaust. I got mine from the vendor on here MarinelliMotorsports check with him I am sure he could help you out. Great price & customer service. Quick shipment also.

Well it is a $400 exhaust with Y pipe so those things could be bad just depending on how picky you are. There is a few threads here about them just search for M2 performance exhaust and read up on them.

Why would you want a knock off exhaust?

Im 17 first of all haha. and i would like extra money to spend on more breather mods and my wheels.

I have read up on the m2 though, it seems like a good knock off from what I've read. how loud is it. does anyone know?

welds are alright but you will most likely have problems with the fitment and also rusting of the exhaust tips. neither problem should be a big deal though

i think your best bet is to try to find a used hks exhaust for sale instead of going for knock-offs...i've seen lots of replica's rust and crack within 2-3 years

The rep exhaust is much louder and raspier. It's quality is no where near the sound of HKS authentic. For $400 you can actually do a full custom exhaust that sounds sick, just don't cheap out. Every mod I went the cheap route even for exhaust I have already changed to quality parts in the end. Save and do it right the first time, you'll save a lot more in the end.

I used to have a knock off HKS installed on my G. Recently purchased one and had it installed. and I agree at the post above the quality and sound is way different. Just save up purchasing the real one. Couldnt stand it when people ask me what exhaust do you have and responding its a knock off.
