Air in Coolant

I replaced the T-stat this weekend and I now have some air in the coolant system. I need to burp the system but have read different ways to burp it that contradict each other. It looks like in the service manual, they close the radiator plug and air relief before starting the car, others say to leave them open when the cars running until the air comes out. Whats the correct way? I poured coolant into the radiator and reservoir to max with the air relief open but it never overflowed out the air relief.

Whats the most time efficient way to burp the coolant lines?

I'm in for this as well, i can't imagine that disconnecting the TB coolant tubes does not introduce air to the system.

There is really no time efficient way to bleed the cooling system. You need to warm it up and let it
Cool down, then check the coolant level again. Add coolant if needed then warm up and cool down again.Repeat until all the air is bled

Raise the front of the car, floor ramps work best for this fix. Offset the ramps so the passenger side is higher than the driver side, rad cap is on passenger side. Take a coat hanger and snip off the hook then bend it in half. Remove the rad cap and start the car, as it's warming up stir the coolant in the rad with the hanger. You should rock the car up and down by pushing on the front bumper as you stir. You'll see the air bubbles as they rise to the top and burst, when there's no more bubbles rising you're done.

Wow, so other than using the air relief valve in the heater host, the manual just says to run the engine at 3000 RPM for ten seconds after it's warmed up.

Let it cool and refill expansion tank and radiator until water comes out of the relief valve again.
