Car Battery Randomly Dies
Car Battery Randomly Dies
Hey guys I'm new here and have a quick question.
I get back home from the gym (my car is working fine), and then randomly 10 minutes later I go to turn my car on and it was completely dead. Then 10 minutes later it started fine. The same thing happened again last night and I'm a little confused on what the problem is.
There is a light on. It is a red light that has a little guy wearing a seatbelt, but it has been on for a long time.
Do you think this is just a problem with the battery? an electrical problem? I need some suggestions thank you!

Little seatbelt guy is the seatbelt sign. Do you wear it while driving? It shouldn't be on if you do
If it stays on then it might be a wiring issue that is causing your battery to go bananas. It also might be your starter going out if it doesn't start intermittently. Do you hear a click when you turn the key (when your car doesn't turn on)?

No it does not make a clicking noise when I try and turn the key and no the lights won't turn on.
The seatbelt guy I looked up and it is the airbag censor.. so I don't know if that is related to the battery.
Does that sound like a starter issue?

Also there is a reset procedure you can try for the airbag sign. (just search airbag/SRS sign reset) If that doesn't work, try searching for the airbag recall they had and see if your car was part of it.
Thank you for the response one voice, the reason I don't know if it is the battery is because of how random it is when it goes out. I'll be driving around, then come home, try to turn on my car 5 minutes later and it's dead, then 5 minutes later it was working again. But i'll take it to autozone tomorrow and see if it is the battery
