Okay so i got the 04 coupe AT with the art pipes and the shockwave tdx v2 which have been on the car for the past 8 months and been amazing up untill recently. I drove back up to NY for a week and i guess i mustve forgot how low or how bad the streets were there and so i wounded up scraping the bottom of the exhaust a few times on different potholes, speedbumps, driveways. It started making a rattle but i quickly diagnosed it to be the fact that it moved a bit and is now rattling off of another peice of metal which is a simple fix. Now heres where it gets interesting. I came back to charlotte and everything was fine. I got sick and the didnt leave the house for two days so the car sat in the garage for those two days. Third day comes around, i turn the car on and the exhaust sounds more muffled. When I rev it it sounds just about fine, but when im driving it, its not nearly as loud as before esspecially in higher RPMs. Muffled is the exact discription i can give. Doesnt resonate nearly as loud. Whats going on here? Thanks for the help bic bois

 

bic boi. what does it sound like when you shut the car off? does it sound like a leak? i have the v1 same thing happend.

 

thats the funny part, doesnt sound like a leak. what did you wind up doing with yours?

 

the v1 muffler is in a horrible spot and it scrapes every where and it finally got a hole in it and it wasent as loud as usual. got the hole repaired and it sounds like new again. did the exhaust get pulled on by a pot hole. could have bent something up near the headers and artpipes.

 

yea one time it got pulled a bit but wasnt that serious at all. im getting it on a lift on wednesday so im hoping its either just a leak or one of the clamps loosening. any ideas what else it could be? or is this pretty much the only thing that would cause this muffled like sound?

 

just get it up on the lift tighten everything up and cross your fingers and hope nothing is not bent or messed up too badly.
