hey i just turned 16, and suprisingly enough my parents bought me a g35 coup black on black without me knowing. They know i really love cars with a passion and now im looking to do some engine modifications. I was wondering if anybody knew any upgrades i can do to my car that would still keep the warentee in tact. I want to get the hp up and stuff and i REALLY REALLY want to find a custom body kit that would look really nice with my car, please leave some links or something or just send me a private message with some things i can do.. it would be really greatly appreciated. ALSO my parents ended up not getting me the navigation system but i really want to put it in and they said it would be ok, so do any of u know where i can find the model that infinti used for the navigation like the screen ect. cause im looking for ones that would pop out of that empty mini department above the stereo deck please leave me a link or help me with this thanks!

Getting the factory nav system retrofitted on a car without it is very expensive, I believe quotes from dealers run around $6,000. If you dig around on the topic here, you'll find a few people that have added aftermarket nav systems with pop-up screens, and installed the unit in the top cubby in the center console. These systems also provide the added bonus of possibly being able to play DVD movies, which the factory nav system cannot do (for legal/liability reasons). Search these forums for "dvd" or "nav system" or something similar, and you should come across several topics where people have posted what they have done, with pictures. The search button is in the very top banner of page.

For engine modifications under warranty -- basically, unless a part directly causes engine failure, it won't void your warranty. It could be a battle, though. The safest route there would be to wait until Nismo actually begins to sell parts in the US, and have an Infiniti dealer install them. No word yet when exactly this will be available, other than "soon." Simple stuff like intake and exhaust shouldn't cause you any warranty concerns, and there are a few aftermarket options there -- but you won't get big power gains from that alone.

i say get some wheels, clear bumpers, stereo upgrades (amps, subs, components, etc.) for now until Nismo decides to get their act together and bring some real performance parts over
